Follow the path through the Untere Wies near Miesbach to the Krauthof Farm Café, a scenic and quiet spot for walkers, cyclists and cross-country skiers alike.
The Café
Opened in 2018, the Krauthof Farm Café in Obere Wies is a converted barn run by the Haltmaier family. The old steel girders and the barrel vault have been preserved, making for a particularly cozy atmosphere in this countryside cafe near Munich. Open all year round, it is considered by those in the know to be somewhat of a insider tip in the Bavarian Oberland.

In summer, you can find most guests of the café enjoying brunch or cake at one of the many tables in the sunny garden. Inside there is a play area for the little ones.
The Food
Farm-made delicacies with a regional touch. Almost exclusively home-made products are used for the breakfasts, cakes and snacks here at the Krauthof and we highly recommend bringing an appetite with you. Some say the cake here is even better than the famous Café Winklstüberl in Fischbachau… The coffee served comes from the Dinzler roasters in nearby Irschenberg.

Nearby
In winter, the area around the café offers the perfect landscape for winter hikes, gentle hills for tobogganing as well as a popular cross-country ski run. In summer, a family-friendly hiking trail leads through the Untere Wies past the Hofcafé.

Summary
Known only to a few day trippers, the café is quite rightly considered an insider tip near Schliersee. But you can’t keep good things completely secret… and so many guests come both from the surrounding villages as well as nearby Munich – especially on weekends. Together with the Hofcafé Beim Melchern and the Hennererhof, the Hofcafé Krauthof is considered to be one of the best farm cafés in the Schliersee region.
Tip: Cakes are also available to take away. Reservations are highly recommended at the weekend.
