The BRB (Bayerische Regiobahn) may have a somewhat notorious track record in winter. But honestly, who wants to get in the car only to sit in traffic and drink Kinderpunsch all day at the Christmas market?
After an enchanting Advent day at the snow-covered Schliersee, any delays, canceled trains or overcrowded carriages no longer bother you. Especially if you’ve had enough mulled wine (Glühwein). So grab your ticket and take the BRB to the most beautiful Christmas markets south of Munich.
Christkindlmarkt Fischbachau: 3rd – 4th December 2022
On the second weekend in Advent, head to Fischbachau for the traditional Christmas market in the courtyard of the old monastery. Twinkling lights, lovingly decorated stands and Christmas music from the brass band make this Christmas Market Fischbachau at the Klosterstüberl something special. And the selection of drinks is anything but standard. Whether you go for the Bombardino (warm eggnog with rum and cream), hot caipis or the Nutella schnapps, there is sure to be something for everyone.

Alpenglühen at the Alperie: 25th November – 23rd December 2022
Mulled wine and raclette by the crackling fire pit with a view of the snowcapped Jägerkamp and Brecherspitz. This may not be a Christmas Market in the traditional sense, but what an fantastic atmosphere can to enjoy during Advent. Come down to Alperie’s Alpenglühen Christmas Event in their wintery alpine garden in Neuhaus from November 25th to December 23rd. It’s popular with both the people of Schliersee as well as visitors and day-trippers and is the perfect place to enjoy a Glühwein near the mountains.

Wasmeiers Weihnachtsmarktl: 9th – 11th December 2022 (cancelled)

The historic Christmas market in the Markus Wasmeier open-air museum is highlight for the whole family. The old Bavarian village south of Schliersee at the foot of the Wendelstein offers a beautiful backdrop for a relaxing Advent day out in the mountains.
Visitors to Wasmeiers Weihnachtsmarktl will also find unusual gift ideas for friends and family from the many regional exhibitors. The Kasperltheater as well as the Christmas bakery and the handicraft room offer plenty of entertainment for the little ones.

Miesbacher Weihnachtsgasserl: 16th – 17th December 2022
In the festively decorated Fraunhoferstraße and around the Miesbach market square, around 20 stands offer mulled wine and delicacies as well as regional products and seasonal handicrafts. With a cup of warming mulled wine in hand, it’s the perfect opportunity to discover the beautiful alleys and side streets with their historic buildings. The shops participating in the Christmas Market Miesbacher Weihnachtsgasserl are also open until 6 p.m. on Friday and until 4 p.m. on Saturday.
