Restaurant “Zum Wofen”

Bavarian classics and freshly brewed beer from the in-house Schöpfbrauerei are on the menu at the “Zum Wofen” restaurant on the grounds of the Markus Wasmeier Open Air Museum in Schliersee-Neuhaus.

The cozy “Zum Wofen” restaurant is the central building on site and is a must when visiting the Markus Wasmeier Open Air Museum. The inn itself is part of the museum. It is a restored farm whose history dates back to the 18th century.

In summer, the shady beer garden is the perfect spot to enjoy a beer. Inside, there are around 70 seats for guests in different rooms as well as in the vault. The menu offers the usual Bavarian classics, using only regional products. Vegetables, herbs and meat all come from the museum or nearby.

Families are welcome and children feel quite at home here. Smaller children enjoy watching the geese and chickens running between the tables. Older children are drawn to the traditional outdoor bowling lane next to the beer garden.

In winter, one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the Schliersee region, Wasmeiers Weihnachtsmarktl, takes place right here in front of the restaurant.

Please be aware you can only access the restaurant as a visitor to the open air museum.
