The Ankelalm (1300 m) is a beautiful “Brotzeit” hut between Schliersee and Spitzingsee. It’s perfect both as an independent hiking destination from Neuhaus or as a stopover on one of the hikes in the Schliersee-Spitzingsee area, particularly along the route to the Brecherspitz.

Description
The easy hike starts at the Dürnbach hiking car park. From here the trail takes you initially back a few hundred meters on Dürnbachstraße in an easterly direction until you come across the signposts to the Brecherspitz in a southerly direction. The well-developed and easy-to-walk hiking trail starts after crossing the Dürnbach.
After about half an hour, around the Anklspitz, the thicket of trees opens up again and again and reveals a beautiful view of the panorama between Schliersee and Spitzingsee.
The path is well signposted throughout – just follow the ascent to the Brecherspitz. After a little more than an hour you’ll reach the Ankelalm. The way back to Neuhaus follows the same path as the ascent.
The Ankelalm mountain hut
The Ankelalm was reopened in 2019 after being completely rebuilt. It is located in the middle of extensive alpine meadows, framed by an impressive mountain backdrop. The menu includes various snacks, cakes, breads, cheese, fresh milk and smoked products straight from the alpine pasture. The hut is closed durin the winter season.

Hike to the Brecherspitz
The Ankelalm is well suited for a short stop and a small snack before the ascent to the Brecherspitz. You’ll need about an hour to reach the summit from the alm. Caution: the optional ascent to the Brecherspitz is a difficult hike for experienced climbers with an exposed ridge that is only suitable for experienced hikers.

Directions and Parking
By Car
Parking can be found at the Dürnbach hikers’ car park at the end of Dürnbachstrasse in Neuhaus. The ascent to the Brecherspitz and thus to the Ankelalm is signposted from the car park.

A beautiful, easily accessible hike in the Schliersee-Spitzingsee area. The distance and elevation are easily manageable for most hikers. The view from the Ankelalm to the Brecherspitz and the surrounding mountains is particularly beautiful.
